Sign up for a free event dedicated to authentic Made in Italy, aimed at F&B professionals in Philadelphia. You will have the opportunity to network and taste some Tuscan delicacies, including Pecorino Toscano PDO and Prosciutto Toscano PDO.
The event will be held on WEDNESDAY, JUNE 28 FROM 5:30 to 6:30 PM at 1909 Rittenhouse – 4th floor (1911 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103).
Special host of the event will be Robert Campana, expert of Made in Italy and founder of the Stop Italian Sounding Movement.
PROSCIUTTO TOSCANO PDO
The delicate taste, the crimson red of the dry and lean slices, the intense taste enhanced by a typical flavor are the distinctive features of this Tuscan excellence.
A refined pleasure, skillfully enriched by the unmistakable aromas of “Tuscany”: pepper, garlic and aromatic plants such as lentisk, myrtle, juniper and others jealously kept secret and handed down from father to son over the centuries.
But perhaps the secret of the quality of Prosciutto Toscano PDO is given by the perfect climate in which it is born; ideal for seasoning, characterized by breezes, temperate land and sea winds that blow over an area protected from the north winds by the Apennines.
PECORINO TOSCANO PD0
Pecorino Toscano has been an Italian PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) cheese since 1996. Its unique and delicate flavour stems from the perfect balance between nature, the environment and long-standing dairy tradition.
Pecorino Toscano has its roots in past centuries and animal husbandry, one of the main activities of the Etruscans and the Romans. Today, as in the past, Pecorino Toscano is characteristic of Tuscany’s dairy tradition and its area of origin (Tuscany and a few neighbouring municipalities in Lazio and Umbria).
It is here that the milk is produced, transformed into cheese and left to ripen. Its unique, delicate flavour reflects an ancient and continuing story from the Etruscans to the present day, always synonymous with quality and very closely linked with the area.
