Instructions
  1. Put the warm whole milk in a bowl.
  2. Add the yeast and stir.
  3. Add the white flour slowly, saving a part. Stir the whole thing.
  4. Let rest until volume has doubled.
  5. Meanwhile, dice the apples.
  6. Add the rest of the white flour and work the dough with a kitchen shovel until homogeneous.
  7. Crush an egg and add it, stirring.
  8. Add the sugar and stir.
  9. Add raisin, pine nuts, rum, salt and the chopped apples.
  10. Grate the lemon zest and stir.
  11. Cover the bowl with a tea towel and let rest for one hour.
  12. Chop the dough in small balls with dimension of a spoon and put them in the boiling peanut oil.
  13. Strain the balls and serve them after having sprinkled them with icing sugar.
